How do I reset my Forgotten / Expired Domain Password?
If you forgot your domain (SSO) password, or it has expired and you are unable to login, you will need to reset your password using the Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) instructions below. If you have not enrolled in in SSPR you will need to open a support ticket and have a member of the IT Team work with you to reset your password. You can view the steps for enrolling in SSPR here.
BEFORE YOU RESET YOUR PASSWORD
Password Criteria:
Must meet the following requirements:
Must be a minimum of 14 characters.
- Not one of your last 5 passwords
Must contain characters from three of the following categories:
Must be a minimum of 14 characters.
Contain characters from three of the following four categories:
English uppercase characters (A through Z)
English lowercase characters (a through z)
Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
Non-alphabetic characters (for example, !, $, #, %)
Complexity requirements are enforced when passwords are changed or created.
- Navigate to https://horizontal.okta.com
- Click "Forgot Password"

- Enter your HZTL UPN, complete the Captcha, and click "Next"

- Choose an alternative method of verification and click "Email", "Text", or similar

- Retrieve the verification code sent to your alternative verification account
- Enter the code in the text box and click "Next"

- If applicable, repeat the process with a second verification method.


- Create a new password that meets HZTL's Password Requirements (see the end of this article) and click "Finish".
- For Mac users, once your password has been reset, be sure to sign into Cisco Anyconnect to sign onto the VPN if you are working remotely, or be sure that you are connected to HI-Corp if you are in-office, once you have done so kerberos should detect the new password and prompt you to update your laptops sign in to sync with your new SSO password.


Your domain password should now be successfully reset - some applications may begin signing you out shortly and require you to re-authenticate. If you run into any issues or need any assistance, please open a ticket with the IT Support Team by visiting support.horizontal.com.
